The Internet contains a plethora of different real estate information Sites... and, unfortunately, a LOT of material from spammers. In fact, in my opinion, there are so many sites that it is 'overload' - too many sites to evaluate and search for needed information. What's someone interested in Houston real estate to do?

Answer: consider taking my following advice - I have identified what I consider THE best four (4) Texas real estate and Houston real estate internet information sites. Further, I have categorized them so that you and other visitors to the DAVELOCKWOOD DAILY can EASILY get information. The four (4) categories and the best sites in my opinion are:

1. Best Research / Academic Real Estate Site in Texas and the U.S.:

   Funded by Texas licensees as myself, these real estate Aggies really have their act together! If one carefully examines their site, there are not very many real estate topics that remain unaddressed. And links (great links!) - whether you are looking for Houston real estate or Texas real estate information regarding appraisals, mortgage financing, taxes, do's and don'ts... practically everything. Houston real estate and Texas real estate sales statistics and related information is also available. Current real estate related issues are thoroughly covered. 2. Best Market-Oriented Houston real estate and Texas real estate Advice and Information Site in the United States:

   Becky and Jim Swann and staff have done a wonderful job in constructing this site. Although ired.com itself has some great features and information, they have identified for you, the visitor, which other real estate sites are the best ones to visit in their respective geographic locations and areas of interest. Again, excellent links are provided. Ired.com contains Houston real estate and Texas real estate information for consumers and professionals alike, and provides a wealth of ideas regarding current issues in real estate. Perhaps the best thing about Ired.com is that it has identified - and provides links to - sites which have actual current online listings where you can go to to tour properties! The DAVELOCKWOOD DAILY is one such site.

3. Best General Texas Resources Site:

   Best General Texas Resources Site: GOTEXAN.COM... This site is exceptional in that it has just about every little tid-bit of general information about Texas you would ever want to know through links that can keep you busy for a month! Great links include, but are not limited to: State government information, Houston things-to-do, Houston weather, schools, cities and towns, historical development information, associations, chambers of commerce, clubs, activities... and, of course, Houston real estate (including the DAVELOCKWOOD DAILY)... the works! Be sure to visit the linked article about Texas' legendary TEXAS RANGERS, too. This site is a 'MUST' for anyone looking for general information about what's up in the great big beautiful State of Texas!

4. Best Financial Real Estate Related Site in the United States:
   The Bank Rate Monitor. (URL: http://www.bankrate.com)
   

   If your question has anything to do with Houston real estate financing, or Texas real estate financing, this is THE site to go to. The information for consumers is the best I've seen on the internet. Mortgage calculators; mortgage financing news; and, in my opinion, THE most important consideration: up-to-date data and advice for real estate financing which is constantly up-dated during the day! This site also has supurb links should further exploration be necessary. One more consideration: the editors of The Bank Rate Monitor are objective in their content and the visitor is not deluged with tons of unwanted advertising.
